Nice comparison. I sort of thought mutual respect for maverick macho would suffice.Obama was an academic, not similar to Putin. Perhaps we underrate effect of personal chemistry on historical trajectory.
ProfessorJust following up on Ed Boyle's comment.....I saw a book today, by accident really, at a thrift store.I haven't even read it....it is called The Amateur.It is about the President.It would be incredibly difficult, it seems to me, to characterize Putin as such.It is hard to consider them together, in almost any sense, really.all the best,
